Kiln-formed Glass:
April & May 2012
Intro to Glass-Fusing workshops!
(near Fredericksburg, VA 22401 and surrounding counties)
2-hr Intro to Glass-Fusing worskhops:
Friday (4-27-12)  @7-9pm;
Monday (4-30-12)  @7-9pm;
Saturday (5-4-12)  @10am-12pm.
If four students participating, the fee is $60/student,
which includes glass, use of tools, and kiln-firings.

Beginning class with Cabochons ~ February 24th, 7-9pm
Beat the Winter Blues ~ Sea Glass Pendant ~ March 9th, 7-9pm

Glass:
Kiln-formed Glass Workshops  2-hour, 2-days, 2-weeks, 2-months  (mature-preteens/teens/adults)
Kiln-Formed Glass Workshop:  Professional Glass Artist Jeanne!
Jeanne is professional glass artist and instructor w years of experience in multiply media.
Glass:  fusing, manipulating (slumping, draping, gravity-drop, combing), casting, painting, bas-relief
Tuition fees vary + project materials usually included in fee

Welding:  Special Guest Instructor Master Welder Richard Perkins, Sr!
Mr Perkins is master welder w 60years experience.
Was a very successful workshop! w many days of oxyacetylene and arch (flux-core, wirefeed MIG and Lincoln 240 AC stick w # different weight/comp rods)

Encaustics:

Was very successful, w participants taking home three finished paintings and tons of new techniques

~Traditional & Contemporary Techniques & Recipes~
demo w # types of wax (starting w the traditional beeswax & damar crystals), pigment,
# of examples of substraits, primers, grounds, heat sources, tools, ...
Plenty of hands-on student exploration of techniques, tools, medium,
as well as, time to work on & possibly complete 2 of their own art pieces.

Each student is to bring their own rubber 'dollar store' safety goggles & cotton gloves, if needed.
